Maintenance Engineer - San Francisco

Video Arts, a component digital postproduction facility with two locationsin San Francisco, specializes in editing, graphic design and animationfor the corporate, documentary and broadcast commercial market.

Hours: 40 hours per week Mon.-Fri. with on-call availability after hours.Responsibilities: Maintenance & repair of video/audio equipment, computers,office equipment and facility infrastructure. Solve equipment problemsfor editors, artists and clients. Install equipment and wiring. OperateMac, PC, Unix computers and maintain LANs. Liaison with building maintenancedept. and outside repair services.

Qualifications: Min. 2 years hands-on engineering exp. in broadcastTV or video post-production facility. Able to troubleshoot and repair problemswith BetacamSP VCRs and other formats. Exp. in maint. & repair of videoswitchers, routers, edit controllers. Excellent computer skills, extensiveknowledge of software and hardware (esp. for the Macintosh). Exp. in componentvideo, esp. component digital. Excellent interpersonal skills, able tocommunicate effectively with all levels of staff, customers and vendors.

Formal training in equipment repair a plus (Sony school or other video/electronicengineering training).

RF / ELECTRONICS / BROADCAST ENGINEER

Bay Area leader has an excellent opportunity for an RF engineer to specify,build and use equipment for testing High Power UHF amplifiers in analogand digital TV service and other applications. You will assist in the development/ manufacture High Power vacuum tube based RF generators in the range of50 to 2000 MHz. As the tester / designer / manufacturer of the systemsyou will also provide technical and field support to customers. This mayrequire limited short notice travel and weekend /holiday work. (Hey, youtested, designed and built the system...when (if)it goes south, and thefield service gang is stumped...you're the last resort. Superior customerservices is a hallmark of this company!)

A BSEE / MSEE and 5 years' experience in High Power RF testing, equipmentand components is desired. Technicians with superior hands-on experiencewill also be considered. High Power transmitter design and maintenancealong with experience with the manufacture / use of vacuum tubes is a realplus.
