Media Files and Delivery Formats

Speaker:

Program: The industry is moving more and more toward digital media standards. Two leaders in this move are AAF (Advanced Authoring Format) and MXF (materials exchange format at www.pro-mpeg.org ). What are these formats and how will they affect the way we will work with media this year? This presentation will review these standards as well as provide some demonstrations of newly available functionality that takes advantages of these new open standards.

For many years Scott Wood was known as the "Pro Tools film guy" in LA and has been involved in driving audio and interop standards from the digital audio users perspective. Five years ago Scott designed the largest independent digital film group in Hollywood, New Standard Post with over sixty workstation delivering film and television content completely on a central network. In the following year, he implemented a similar completely digital workflow at Todd Burbank for Ascent Media Group. In 2001 he returned to Digidesign as a Senior Product Manager in charge of media production and networking markets.
