With 2009 not that far off—the scheduled shutdown of terrestrial analog television broadcasting in the US—the use of wireless microphones and intercoms is headed for conflicts in an already crowded spectrum. Clear-Com may have an answer.
In the coming spectrum overcrowding, when wireless production intercoms start taking hits, a digital system operating well above the crowded UHF band may solve the problem. The new CellCom intercom, along with an IP-based digital interface and other technology, will be on display and demonstrated at this SMPTE meeting.
Besides good eats, Clear-Com will offer some “I can use that!” door prizes, including a 2GB iPOD nano.
